If you’re keen to even out imperfections and correct teeth that are chipped, misshapen or discoloured, then dental veneers may be the best treatment option for you.
At Pen Y Bont Dental, we have many years’ experience in shaping and applying dental veneers for patients in Bridgend and throughout South Wales. We understand that undergoing this kind of treatment is a big step, so during your free initial consultation, we’ll happily explain how the process works, the results you can expect, and how to look after your veneers long after they have been fitted.
You’ll also have the chance to ask us any questions you may have about what you can expect from your dental veneers once they have been fitted.
Our results speak for themselves. Take a look at the gallery below for examples of our work.
Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted from porcelain or composite resin that cover the front surface of your teeth to enhance their appearance. They are often used to correct a range of dental issues, including discoloration, chipped or worn teeth, gaps, and slight misalignments.
If you’re interested in getting dental veneers fitted, the process typically begins with a consultation here at Pen Y Bont Dental, where one of our dentists will assess your suitability for this type of treatment.
Initially, they will remove a thin layer of enamel from the surface of the tooth to make sure the veneer adheres well and aligns seamlessly with your neighbouring teeth. Next, they will take an impression of the tooth, which will be sent to a dental lab. The veneer(s) will be custom fabricated to ensure they are a perfect fit for your mouth.
Temporary veneers will usually be fitted in the meantime. Once the permanent veneers are ready, our dentists will bond them to your teeth by using a strong adhesive that’s cured under a special light.
For a flawless, natural-looking smile, veneers are custom-made porcelain or composite shells that improve the appearance of stained, chipped, or uneven teeth. At Pen Y Bont Dental, we craft veneers to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, providing a durable, minimally invasive solution that enhances your smile’s shape, colour, and symmetry for long-lasting confidence.
How do dental veneers work?
Thin yet surprisingly strong, dental veneers are custom-made shells that have been crafted from porcelain or composite resin. They are designed to be bonded to the front surface of the teeth to adjust and enhance their appearance.
How long do dental veneers last?
Porcelain veneers are the longer lasting choice, with a lifecycle of around 10 to 15 years. Composite veneers will look their best for between 5 to 7 years.
What is the difference between porcelain
and composite veneers?
Porcelain veneers are more durable and resistant to stains, so they can deliver a better return on your investment. They also provide a more natural appearance. On the other hand, composite veneers are less costly and can often be applied in just one session. Our cosmetic dentists will be able to discuss the pros and cons of each veneer type with you during your initial consultation to help you decide on the material that best suits your needs.
Can veneers be removed if I change my mind?
Veneers are considered a permanent treatment because a small amount of enamel is removed to fit them. They can be replaced if needed, but we don’t usually recommend removing them entirely without replacing them.
